It’s time for another scavenger hunt that you can play online with friends and family! (There was such a great reaction to the Virtual Disney Scavenger Hunt that I wanted to make more!) This would be a great game to play together over the upcoming 4th of July Weekend if you can’t be with your friends and family in person like usual. 🙂

You can play this online using Zoom or FaceTime or whatever works best. Simply copy and paste this list of twenty stories and items into the first column on a spreadsheet (Excel or Numbers). Then label the headings of the other columns with the names of the players joining you. It’s that easy!

1. The Frog King: a frog (Don’t kiss it!)
2. Hansel and Gretel: candy (Extra points if it’s from a gingerbread house! 😉 )
3. The Twelve Brothers: something black (for the brothers turned to ravens)
4. Rapunzel: cabbage (Don’t eat it! It’s not worth it!)
5. The White Snake: a ring (Don’t let the ducks near it!)
6. The Brave Little Tailor: a rock (Can you throw it farther than a giant?)
7. Cinderella: lentils (for picking out of ashes)
8. Little Red-Cap: a pot for boiling water (and for boiling wolves…)
9. The Bremen Town Musicians: a rooster, a donkey, a dog, OR a cat (I couldn’t pick between them!)
10. Thumbling: something the size of your thumb (He’s also known as Tom Thumb…)
11. The Elves and the Shoemaker: a shoe (doesn’t need to be made from the finest leather…)
12. Little Briar Rose: a needle (since spindles are hard to find)
13. Little Snow White: mirror (“Mirror, Mirror on the wall”)
14. Rumpelstiltskin: flour (for the Miller’s daughter)
15. The Shoes That Were Danced to Pieces: a leaf (doesn’t need to be made of gold or silver…)
16. Iron John: an apple (doesn’t need to be made of gold…)
17. The Six Swans: something white (for the six swans)
18. A Riddling Tale: a flower (Do you know the answer to the riddle? Look it up!)
19. Snow-White and Rose-Red: a bear (he may be a prince…)
20. The Golden Key: a key (you must read the tale to know what it unlocks…)

Rules

This game takes about 30-45 min. and can be played with any number of players!

The way we worked scoring was if you were the first person to show something, you got two points. Everyone else got one point once they showed the item. This worked very well, since it meant I, as moderator, only had to notice the first person to show the item, and after that I just gave whoever else found something a point. After every fifth item, I revealed the score, so everyone knew where they stood.

We decided if you couldn’t find the item listed, you could show something else that reminded you of the movie, then you could make an argument for it to earn one point.
